NEW FILM DEAL: THE GARDEN OF EVENING MISTS

So I'm very proud to be adapting this booker-nominated novel, written by Tan Twan Eng, for Astro Shaw and HBO. Special mention for Arvind David. It's a sweeping story, set in the mountains of Malaysia, about a young woman's struggle to overcome her suffering in a brutal prison camp during WW2. Got a great team behind this (all lovely to boot), too many to mention. I just got back from my first Malaysia trip (beautiful), so will post some pics soon! In the meantime - better get writing!
